Cyberbyrd's Flight Service is a small aviation business located in Nelson Cove. Nelson is a fictitious quiet little cove on the Columbia River, located approximately 10 NM from Hood River Airport (4S2). We deal primarily with helicopter operations such as tours, charters, supply delivery, Search and Rescue and such. There is also a small dock to accomodate our floating friends, and a small runway for STOL fixed wing fans. Stop on by and take a look around, don't forget to pay a visit to the cabin if you fail to find the Manager in the office. He lives close enough to work he goes home for coffee, not just lunch. If you care to fly in from Hood River Airport (4S2) or another local field tune your ADF to 500 to follow the NDB. The fuel cache is a working refueling area, so don't forget to top off the tanks before leaving.

INSTALLATION:

This scenery is for FS2002 & FS2004. There are differences in altitude between the two sims so I have included a separate scenery folder with bgls for the 2K2 version.

I recommend that you install all add on scenery in a folder located outside of FS. It makes managing add ons easier and prevents mixing files should you want to completely remove one in the future.

If you don't already have a separate folder for your add on scenery just create one on your desktop, hard drive, or wherever is convenient for you. Name it something logical like Add On Scenery or such. Now you copy the Nelson Cove folder to this add on folder.

For FS2002 The first thing you will need to do is copy the contents of the Texture folder to the Texture folder of Nelson Cove 2K2 (I have done it this way to save on file size for downloading). Copy the Nelson Cove 2K2 to the folder in which you store your Add on scenery. Now you start the sim, click World/Scenery Library and click Add Area. Now browse to the Nelson Cove 2K2 folder and click OK. If you want to start your flight at Nelson Cove click Add on Scenery and choose from the Helipads or the Runway.

For FS9 (FS2004) Copy the Nelson Cove folder to the folder in which you store your Add on scenery. Open FS9/Settings/Scenery Library/Add Area and browse to the add on folder you created, select Nelson Cove, click Open, Click OK and close FS9. Restart FS9 go to World/Go to Airport/Add On Scenery and select Nelson Cove. Now just choose your starting place and enjoy your stay.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS:

Ken "WeBads" Nelson after whom the scenery is named. Thanks Ken for responding to my mail a few years back and encouraging me to pursue scenery design, and all your wonderful bush sceneries I have enjoyed flying in for some time. I know it took me longer than most to produce results, but it's here at last.

Don Mosser for your wonderful sceneries that I have enjoyed and sparked some of the ideas here.

Frank Betts, Tom Fica, Doc George, and anyone I may have left out for the great macros that make this scenery possible, as I still struggle with FSDS to learn to build my own objects.

Pascal Meziat, Tom Hiscox, Brian McWilliams and Manfred Moldenhauer for the Airport and SCASM programs with which this scenery were created.

Members of www.hovercontrol.com who have been very supportive and have given me many ideas for this and future projects.

John, Paul, Scott, and Andy, my fellow staff members at Hover Control who have patiently helped me with the different skills needed to bring this project to life, and for their support and friendship. These individuals are directly responsible for the bit of sanity I manage to retain.

Jordan Moore, founder and owner of www.hovercontrol.com for your faith, support, advice, counsel, and encouragement to take on such projects. Thanks for the opportunities at HC and your valued friendship. Not to mention those deer grazing out by the pilot's cabins.

This is my first scenery release. If you like it please drop me a note which may encourage me to continue this pursuit. Hope you enjoy my little corner of the river bank.
